Teacher Appreciation Day at Vine Hill School

At our recent Subaru Loves Learning event for the teachers and staff of Vine Hill Elementary School, we had the opportunity to share a small gesture of gratitude that made a meaningful impact. We provided fresh bagels, and coffee to help start the school day with encouragement and appreciation for the incredible work the educators and staff do every day for their students and community of Scotts Valley. The smiles, conversations, and heartfelt thanks we received reminded us how important it is to support those who dedicate themselves to shaping young minds. Teachers and school staff often go above and beyond behind the scenes, and we were honored to give back in a simple but thoughtful way. The Subaru Love Promise is all about being more than a car company — it's about caring for and supporting our community. Partnering with Vine Hill Elementary School allowed us to show appreciation for local educators and strengthen the connection between our dealership and the community we serve. We are grateful for the opportunity to spread kindness, fuel a busy morning with breakfast, and remind the amazing staff at Vine Hill Elementary that their hard work truly matters. Evan Schmitt

Valued Customer at Santa Cruz Subaru

One of the most meaningful parts of the Subaru Love Promise is supporting people through every stage of life. Recently, we had the privilege of helping a longtime Subaru customer and his family who is currently living in a care facility. Although they are no longer able to drive, their connection to Subaru and the memories created over the years with their vehicles remain incredibly important to them. Our team took time to visit, bring thoughtful gifts, and simply spend time listening to stories about road trips, family adventures, and the independence their Subaru once provided. What began as a small gesture turned into a heartfelt reminder that kindness and human connection matter just as much as the vehicles we sell. In addition the customer we wanted to show the staff how much we appreciate the care they provide for the member of our Subaru family The customer and care staff expressed deep appreciation for the visit, sharing how meaningful it was to know they had not been forgotten. Moments like these remind us that the Subaru Love Promise extends far beyond the showroom — it is about caring for people, building lasting relationships, and showing compassion within our community. We are honored to continue supporting our customers not only during milestones and celebrations, but also during life's more challenging seasons. Through simple acts of kindness, we hope to bring comfort, connection, and a reminder that they are still part of the Subaru family.

Harbor High Golf Tournament

At Santa Cruz Subaru, being More Than a Car Company means supporting the people and programs that help our communities thrive. That's why we were proud to sponsor the Harbor High Golf Tournament benefiting the Harbor High athletics program. Athletics teach students far more than competition. Through sports, young people learn discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience — lessons that stay with them long after the final score. By supporting this tournament, we had the opportunity to help provide resources that allow Harbor High student-athletes to continue growing both on and off the field. The tournament brought together local businesses, families, alumni, coaches, and community members for a day centered around connection and support for Harbor High students. Seeing the community rally around these athletes was a powerful reminder of how important local partnerships are in creating opportunities for the next generation. At Subaru, we believe in investing in our communities and helping students pursue their passions with confidence. We are honored to play a small part in supporting Harbor High's athletic programs and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact where we live and work. Together, we can help students drive toward a brighter future. Evan Schmitt Santa Cruz Subaru Love Promise Coordinator

She is Beautiful Race

For Subaru, the Love Promise has always been about more than vehicles. It's about being there for the people and communities we serve — supporting the journeys that matter most. That's why sponsoring the She is Beautiful Race is deeply personal for the employees of Santa Cruz Subaru. Before sunrise, the coastline begins to fill with energy. Mothers holding daughters' hands, friends pinning race bibs onto jackets. First-time runners nervously stretching beside seasoned athletes. Every person arrives with their own story, challenges, and a reason for showing up. Some come to celebrate strength. Some come to heal. Some come to remember. Some simply come to prove to themselves that they can. At Subaru, we believe those journeys deserve support. The She is Beautiful Race reflects the same values that drive the Subaru Love Promise every day: compassion, community, encouragement, and the belief that every person deserves to feel empowered wherever life takes them. As thousands of runners move along the oceanfront together, something extraordinary happens. The race stops being about competition and becomes about connection. People cheer for strangers. Friends slow down so no one finishes alone. Families wait at the finish line with tears, hugs, and pride. That spirit is what inspired our partnership. Because being part of a community means more than showing up when it's easy. It means standing beside people through every mile — the uphill climbs, the unexpected detours, and the moments that change us forever. The Subaru Love Promise is our commitment to support causes that create hope and bring people together. Sponsoring the She is Beautiful Race is one way we honor that commitment. We believe in creating opportunities for women to feel strong, supported, and celebrated. We believe wellness and connection can transform lives. And we believe that when communities come together with kindness and encouragement, incredible things happen. At the finish line, every participant receives more than a medal. They leave with confidence. With memories. With proof that they are capable of more than they imagined. That is the heart of the Subaru Love Promise. Not just helping people get where they're going — but supporting the moments along the way that truly matter.

We extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous sponsorship of the Capitola Classic Skate Competition. Your support played a vital role in making this event a success—not only for the skate community, but also for the animals who will directly benefit from your contribution. Your involvement helps provide care, shelter, and hope to animals in need, and that impact reaches far beyond the day of the competition. Your donation will go a long way to providing much need supplies for our furry friends. Having all those Subaru models at the show brought a great element to the competition. It was fitting that our Pro Champion happened to be a Subaru owner. We truly appreciate your partnership and dedication to making a difference. Thank you for helping us turn passion into purpose. We look forward to partnering with you next year Michael Tran

Donation to Vine Hill

To Sandra, Evan, the Management and Ownership at Santa Cruz Subaru, I wanted to reach out to sincerely thank you all for your generous donation of $500 and school supplies to each classroom teacher at Vine Hill Elementary School. I was able to attend the first First Friday Flag Ceremony of the year when the donation was announced. All of us parents were a little surprised to see the Santa Cruz Subaru vehicle parked on the playground. When the Principal announced the “Special Guests” Everybody saw the boxes of supplies where Evan was standing. We all know how hard it is for our teachers and how much of their own money they spend on getting the basic needs for our children to succeed. I get many emails throughout the year from our teachers and the PTA looking for the parents to provide items/donations for the classroom. I was speaking with a few other parents about how it appeared Santa Cruz Subaru was going to donate a bunch of school supplies. We were all so happy when it appeared to just be basic supplies. Then Sandra spoke and revealed that in addition to the boxes of supplies each teacher would also receive a $500 credit we were all shocked. I could see several of the parents trying to do the math at $500 each classroom and the impact that will have for our teachers. Even better than the parents' reaction was the teachers' reaction to the wonderful news. I spoke to my child's teachers and apparently they had no idea this was coming. The administration did a great job keeping it a secret from everybody. Sandra did an amazing job talking to the kids. She spoke about what community means and how important it is to support our teachers, what we can all do to make an impact in the lives of our schools and our community. She even told a couple dad jokes to get the kids to laugh a little bit. What I liked most was that there was no mention of Santa Cruz Subaru trying to sell anything. They truly seem like they do these types of things because they want to do it and it is the right thing to do. Not to help sell cars. Your support provides our teachers with the resources they need to enrich learning, spark creativity, and make every classroom a place where students can thrive. It is so refreshing to see a local company give back to the community in such a generous way. Your kindness will make a lasting impact on every child’s education, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to our school community. With heartfelt appreciation, The Parents at Vine Hill Elementary

To the Owner, Manager and Employees of Santa Cruz Subaru My family and I wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to Santa Cruz Subaru for participating in the 50th Santa Cruz Pride Festival on June 1st. Your presence and support helped make the celebration even more vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone in our community. Your commitment to diversity, equity, and love for all truly shines through—not only in your involvement with Pride but in the way you continuously show up for the people of Santa Cruz. We live in such a crazy time. So many companies are afraid to support certain groups in fear of facing a financial backlash. It is so refreshing to see Santa Cruz Subaru stand up in support of the LBGTQ+ community. Thank you for helping us create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated. I got the chance before the parade to meet with Evan, Sandra, Jeff and their families. We took pictures and talked about Subaru. All of them seemed so happy and honored to be a part of the celebration. I am so proud to be a customer of Subaru and Santa Cruz Subaru Michael Smith Proud Subaru Owner

Your kindness means so much to us, and I know it will make a big difference in my child's life and the lives of others at the Club. Having good shoes is such an important part of a child's life. It brings our family such relief that our children's shoes are taken care of and we can use our tight budget for other necessities. Your thoughtful gesture not only provides practical support, but it also shows the importance of caring for one another and strengthening our community. My child is excited to wear the new shoes, and I am deeply grateful for your contribution to making this possible. Thank you again for your generosity. It truly makes a positive impact, and we are so appreciative of your kindness. Warm regards, Nancy

Your support means the world to us, and the thoughtful items you provided truly enhanced the experience for our players and attendees. The welcome bags were a hit, and they helped set the tone for an amazing event. Having the bags include only local Santa Cruz products was such a great idea. All the visiting teams love Santa Cruz and were so happy to have a little taste of Santa Cruz to bring home with them. The coaches and adult volunteers from the other teams were so happy you included products just for them as they are often forgotten. It’s donors like you who make our community stronger, and we are so thankful for your partnership in making this tournament a success! We truly appreciate your contribution and look forward to future opportunities to work together.

Great Customer experience

Great Customer Service: Hello Subaru, I wanted to start off by saying I love my Solterra!!! The real reason for the letter is to let you know about the amazing experience I continue to have with the Santa Cruz Subaru team. To start the purchase process was the best I have ever had. My sales person was very low pressure, understood our needs, and was very knowledgeable about the Solterra. The follow up was an unexpected bonus. Evan and Sandra followed up with us on a regular basis. They kept checking in over the next several months to make sure we were happy and to offer any assistance with the overwhelming technologies the Solterra offers. On top of everything I had the most amazing experience with Evan. As I was driving to work one day, my passenger side front tire blew out on the freeway. I was lucky enough to be able to pull over in a safe area. Of course, because of the excellent instruction from my sales person and Evan, I was well aware that the Solterra doesn’t come with a spare tire. While I was waiting for the tow truck to arrive I noticed a Solterra wrapped in the Santa Cruz Subaru design pull up behind me. To my surprise I saw Evan get out and walk towards my disabled car. He immediately recognized me and called me by name, asked if I was O.K and offered his assistance. I guess he was on his way to work when he saw me on the side of the road. He saw me too late to pull over in his personal car. When he made it to work he grabbed the dealer shuttle and then drove back to my location just to check on me. I told him everything was good, the tow truck was on the way and would be here any minute. He brought me a coffee, a pastry and waited with me until the tow truck arrived just to make sure I was ok and to verify the tow truck company brought the correct type of tow truck(something I had no idea about). On his way back to the dealership he must have called in to tell them to expect my arrival because when we arrived in the tow truck, the service department was waiting for me with a rental car all ready to go. This experience went above and beyond expectations and the normal car buying experience. I am so happy my family has found Subaru and Santa Cruz Subaru. We will be lifelong customers of both. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Adoption event at Santa Cruz Subaru

To the Managers and employees of Santa Cruz Subaru I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for hosting the recent pet adoption event during Subaru Loves Pets Moth. Your efforts and dedication made a significant difference in finding loving homes for so many furry friends. My family was in need of a new kitten after our beloved cat Nico of 21 years passed on. We are longtime Subaru owners and supporters of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. When we brought our car in for service we were happy to see the advertisement for the adoption event being hosted the next weekend. We were not sure if we were ready but the fact that the event was being held at your store combined with the donations you will make for every adopted pet made us at least consider getting a new kitten The event was beautifully organized, and it was inspiring to see the community come together for such a great cause. When we arrived we were met by Carla, a very friendly salesperson. We explained to her we are already Subaru owners and were just there for the adoption event. She then proceeded to bring us over to the kittens, taking time out of her busy sales schedule to help us find our new family member. She didn’t even consider not helping us. It was so amazing to see someone more concerned with helping other than making a sale. We were happy to see several kittens available for adoption. We narrowed our choices down to two. The decision was very hard so we decided to adopt both especially since they were brother and sister. We could not be any happier with our decision to adopt when we did. Thank you Santa Cruz Subaru for helping us fill a hole in our family.Your passion for animal welfare truly shone through, and I know that many pets are now in loving homes because of your hard work. Thank you once again for all that you do. I’m looking forward to future events and continuing to support your dealership and its mission together! Warm regards, Aaron

Your contribution is truly appreciated. We are grateful for your investment in our children's success. In addition to the monetary donation we are so happy that you have allowed Coach Evan to alter his work schedule during the season to coach our Flying Tomatoes. He has been such an amazing coach and I can only imagine what a great employee he must be, We a huge shortage of coaching volunteers this year it was so great to see a work place which allows their employees adjust their schedules to accommodate something outside of work. Santa Cruz Subaru must truly be an amazing place to work!!! Thanks again for your kindness, support and commitment to our kids. Emily Schmitt

TerraCycle program at Santa Cruz Subaru

I wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Santa Cruz Subaru for being a TerraCycle drop off center for the past several years. Your commitment to recycling and sustainability is making a significant impact in our community and beyond. By taking part in this program, you are helping to divert waste from landfills and promoting a greener, cleaner environment. Your efforts exemplify the spirit of environmental stewardship and show how collective actions can lead to meaningful change. Over the past several years I have made special monthly trips to Santa Cruz Subaru to drop off many items I use at my house which would previously go to a landfill. I always felt so guilty using these products and thanks to your participation my house has learned there are more ways to recycle than just throwing items into our household bins. Santa Cruz Subaru is dedicated to fostering initiatives that benefit both our local community and the planet. Your involvement in the TerraCycle program is a crucial part of this mission, and we are grateful for your support and dedication. Thank you once again for your participation and for being an integral part of our journey towards a more sustainable future. I look forward to seeing what other environmental programs Santa Cruz Subaru has in store. Warm regards,

The fact that you included not only the teachers, their assistants but all the office and support staff as well, made all of us feel appreciated. Recycling Program at Vine Hill Elementary

I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to Santa Cruz Subaru for spearheading the implementation of the terracycle snack wrapper recycling program at Vine Hill Elementary school. Your dedication to teaching our children about sustainability and environmental consciousness is truly admirable, and it's inspiring to see someone take proactive steps to make a positive impact on our community. The introduction of the recycling program not only teaches our children the importance of caring for the environment but also instills in them the value of responsibility and collective action. By providing them with the opportunity to participate in recycling efforts at school, you are helping to cultivate a generation of environmentally aware citizens who understand the significance of reducing waste, conserving resources and everyone can make a difference. Moreover, your commitment to this initiative not only benefits our immediate school community but also sets an example for other institutions and individuals to follow suit. Your vision and leadership in championing this cause are invaluable, and I am truly grateful for your efforts in making our school a more environmentally friendly place. Emeril Lagasse Teaching Garden

Dear Evan and Santa Cruz Subaru You made it possible to establish and grow Starlight’s Culinary Garden and Teaching Kitchen (CGTK). It’s becoming the community hub we dreamed of, and it fulfills Pajaro Valley Unified School District’s (PVUSD’s) commitment to serve the "Whole Child, Whole Family, Whole Community." We couldn’t have accomplished this and expanded garden education across PVUSD’s elementary schools without your generosity! Starlight’s kitchen and garden program is flourishing, with children exploring and learning as young scientists in an outdoor garden classroom. We hope you enjoyed the recent newsletter, just a glimpse into PVUSD’s and Life Lab’s rich activities happening there and across the district for children, families and educators. During summer school, children learned about different countries and cultures through food and gardening. Right now, they are harvesting and cooking things they planted over the summer Starlight, other Pajaro Valley families, and community organizations are also using the kitchen to share recipes and cook together. We hope you tried the recipe attached to the newsletter. Make a Wish

Dear Evan and the Santa Cruz Subaru Team, Thank you for your support of Make-A-Wish during the 2022 Subaru Share the Love® Event. I am happy and grateful to announce you and the Greater Bay Area Subaru retailers helped raise $93,596 for local children with critical illnesses. When a wish comes true, it creates strength, hope and transformation in a child and a community. 90% of medical providers said a wish increases a child's compliance with treatment. 95% of parents said they saw their child's emotional well-being improve through the wish experience: and 87% of wish alumni said their wish gave then strength to fight their critical illness. Thank you for all of us a Make-A -Wish greater bay area and all the local wish kids!! Warmly and gratefully, Anne Muldoon

Santa Cruz Subaru and Hopes Closet

I was so happy to learn of Santa Cruz Subaru and their partnership with Hopes Closet over the past couple of years for the Share the Love Event. Hopes Closet has been a lifeline to the Central Coastal California Farmworker Community. Farmworkers are the poorest of the working poor. Their wages are so low that they often find themselves juggling limited funds between purchasing food for their families or paying their rent. There is often precious little money left over in their budgets for the purchase of clothing for their children or supplies for babies, including clothing, bassinet, car seat, toys, diapers, etc. I get calls from farmworkers regularly about their inability to stretch their budgets to purchase these essential items. I always send them to Hopes Closet. Hopes Closet always provides the farmworkers with everything they need; free of charge. The organization provides large bags full of clothing in the requested size plus books, shoes, and games for children. Literally, they have provided for thousands of farmworker families during the many years that I have worked with them. They also provide bassinets, bath trays, car seats for all ages of children, etc. etc. They have even provided a service for a retired couple who make beautiful layettes for pregnant farmworker women. Often when I receive donations from Hopes Closet to distribute to the farmworker community, they hand me bags of the beautiful layettes. Finally, Hope's Closet regularly holds rummage sales for the Santa Cruz community. They allow Center for Farmworker Families to take and distribute anything at these rummage sales that was not sold. Hopes Closet is a gift to the farmworkers of coastal central California. It's a delight to work with the kind, giving people that are responsible for maintaining the charity. I honestly don't know what farmworkers in the area would do without them. Please consider giving this most needed, worthy charity all the benefits that a philanthropic charity of their quality is entitled to. We need them! Thank-you, Dr. Ann Lopez, Director Center for Farmworker Families

Hospice of Santa Cruz

Dear Evan and Jeff, Thank you for including Hospice of Santa Cruz County as one of your community charities for the 2022 Share the Love Campaign. The 2022 donation of $13,565 helps support community programs at Hospice of Santa Cruz County like music therapy, pet companions, volunteer visitors, palliative care, Camp Erin and grief support for all ages. We kicked off our spring volunteer visitors training with 21 volunteers. Each new volunteer shared their personal reasons for wanting to become a volunteer and their stories were powerful. The program is so meaningful to both the volunteers and to the patients who look forward to their visits. In May we help our 2022 Camp Erin at the beautiful Farm Discovery site in Carralitos. Camp Erin is a transformational weekend camp that combines traditional camp activities with grief education and emotional support. Our campers learned a variety of coping skills, meet new friends and most importantly , learned that there are other kids, just like them, who have lost someone special. In the past seven years, Santa Cruz Subaru has donated $171,572 to fund programs such as these. It's such a honor to have the support of Subaru, our treasured community partner. With much gratitude, Sigfrid Garman Fund Development Program Manager

Terra Cycle Recycling Center

A big thank you to Santa Cruz Cruz Subaru for allowing their customers to bring in snack wrappers, cups, creamer pods, and used K-Cups for recycling. At my house we try to be eco-friendly as possible. We recycle as much as we can but their are some things we love which we thought could not be recycled. My husband and I love of coffee machine and our kids love their snacks. We have always felt so bad that some of of favorite treats went into the trash. During one visit to have our car serviced I noticed an employee putting K-Cups into a green bin. The employee (Evan the "Love Promise Champion) told us Santa Cruz Subaru is a Terra Cycle Recycling Center. They collect all of these items used at the dealership, then send them off to Terra Cycle to be converted into benches and play structures. Evan told me many of these items are donated to playgrounds in desperate need of new equipment. He even said I can collect items and bring them to the dealership. I was so happy that my families most wasteful vice is no longer wasteful but actually goes to a good cause. Evan told me he has several customers who collect items from friends and family and then bring a huge hall into the dealership every month. I have started a collection among my group of friends and play to make a visit later this month. I know this must be an expensive program for the dealership to participate in. I am very thankful to Subaru for offering this service. I can't wait to see the bench they ordered.

Emeril's Culinary Garden and Teaching Kitchen at Starlight Elementary School

Dear Evan and our friends at Santa Cruz Subaru Thanks to your generosity and support for Emeri's Culinary Garden and Teaching Kitchen, the kitchen ais roofed and interior work had begun. When the building is finished in early August, the garden tam will move in to install the beds and features that will make the garden spaces rich with learning opportunities and experiences. The garden is being designed by a volunteer school garden architect and the talanted staffs of Life Lab and PVUSD. The vibrant voices of students, families, and the community are adding valuable imput to the project and programming. A recent survey of the children sparked imaginations and dreams for their kitchen and garden; "A little pond with fish", "a cage filled with ladybugs", "bird feeders and apple trees", and "a robot to clean our hands". You and other generous donors have so far contributed $894,110 toward the $1 million community goal. We are buoyed by this wonderful process and as cost rise, we continue working with our community to meet and we hope, exceed this goal. The recent exciting news that the disttict will expand garden education to all 16 elementary schools(9,000 students) by 2024 means the Starlight Kitchen/Garden will be even more vital as a hub for new lessons and learning , teacher training, and district-wide student access through extended learning and summer programs. The impact of your giving continues to grow. The attached phots include a birds-eye view of the entire projuect site and prominent placement of the beautiful donor recognition wall designed by artist Kathleen Crocetti. We will celebrate the project's completion this fall with a ribbon cuttin and fiesta, and we look forward to welcoming you to this joyous celebration. For now, we thank you once again for your investment in our children and future generations of our community. With great appreciation, Linda and the Kitchen/Garden Leadership Team.

Terra Cycle Drop Off

I would like to thank Santa Cruz Subaru for being a part of the TerraCycle recycling program. At my house we try to recycle as much as possible but there have always been items we use everyday which that just was not possible. When we were in for a service on our Subaru I talked with Evan, the Love Promise Coordinator. He told us we could bring in any snack/candy wrappers and to my surprise, coffee and creamer pods. Two items I have always heard were not able to be recycled. As an amazing bonus he told us that lots of the recycled items are converted into benches and playground equipment which are then donated to communities in need. I know this program must be expensive to be a part of. I am very thankful to be a customer of a dealership like Santa Cruz Subaru.

Hospice of Santa Cruz County

Dear Jeff and Sheriff Thank you for including Hospice of Santa Cruz County as one of your community charities for the Share The Love Campaign. Over the past six years your have provided $158,000 to support community funded programs that tour the live of the children. Camp Erin, your grief support, and concurrent care for children are programs that serve children at their most vulnerable, provide card at the bedside, one-on-one grief support sessions and, most recently, a day-long camp for grieving children. Camp Erin is a free camp designed specicically for children who have lost a loved one. The camp provides a balance of frief support activities staffed by our team of firef counsellors and volunteers, and play. Most children attending camp have never met another child what has experienced the death of a loved one. THe opportunity for shared experience is healing and nuturing. In October we hosted 30 children for a day-long camp. Campers came from Sacramento, Sunnyvale, and throughout Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. We plan to resume hosting our usual overnight camp in June. Ella is nine. Her father passed this past year. When Ella arrived at camp, she informed her Camp Buddy that she had at least a million things she would rather do. She was sullen, anxious, and withdrawn. Her Camp Buddy warmly welcomed her and invited her to join in whenever she felt comfortable. Ella participated in the memory board exercise and the music therapy exercises. As the day progressed, she sought out her Camp Buddy to share "how cool" everything was. She evern shared her story and bonded with another camper over a similar loss. At the end of the day, she enthusiastically shared her experience with her Mom, who was relieved and thankful for her daughters experience. We recognize that every time a child comes to camp, they are taking a chance. They are vulnerable. Their leap-of -faith compels us to create a compassionate community that honors each child wherever they find themselves in their journey. Just like Ella, we know that you have a choice when you select the community organizations to participate in the Share the Love Campaign. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to our continued partnership. With gratitude, Jenifer

Hopes Closet of Santa Cruz

Our mission to dontate clothing, shoes, underwear, blankets, books and toys to families who have children in need. We realize that a child having adequate clothing is not only a necessity of life from a physical stand-point but having some of the simple things in life such as shoes, underware or a jacket that many of us take for granted, does wonders for a child's self-esteem. We provide approximately 3,000 "Bundles of Hope" each year to children from low income families. Each bundle contains gently used clothing, shoes, books and toys. The bundles of Hope are provided free of charge. The 2020 donation from Santa Cruz Subaru had a significant impact of our operations. Without your generous support we would not have helped as many families, especially during crisis events like the pandemic and the wildfires in which we saw so many new families who otherwise wouldn't have need our services. Thank you for supporting our work. Your genersity will provide hope to so many children. Sincerly, Donna Odryna Board Chair

Blind Senior Husky finds his forever home!

Dakota came to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter as an owner surrender. His owner was moving and could not keep him any longer. Dakota had lived with children and another dog in his former home. He enjoyed going for car rides and was a great companion. At 10 years old, Dakota was a bit slower than he used to be and blind. Despite these geriatric conditions, he had a heart of gold and enjoyed being brushed by volunteers and sunbathing while soaking up attention. Staff and volunteers showered him with love during his stay. The veterinary staff examined him and found that although being blind, he was in generally in great health for his age. Next step was to find this sweet guy an equally wonderful home. Dakota met a wonderful family just 13 days after he entered the Shelter. On Halloween, Dakota got to spend his first night in his adoptive home. Santa Cruz Subaru helped promote adoptable dogs during the month of October. This helped to support the SCCAS, the county's only open admission Shelter, and adopt 175 animals into homes! Thank you Santa Cruz Subaru!

Meals on Wheels forSanta Cruz County

Since 2018, Community Bridges' Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County, in collaboration with Santa Cruz Subaru have shred the love of giving though the Subaru Share the Love event. Our partnership with Santa Cruz Subaru helped Meals on Wheels meet the nutritional needs of Santa Cruz County older residents during the holiday season and beyond. The Subaru Share the Love event has raised $16,415.55 which translates to 1,614 nutritionally balanced meals for our seniors!! Without these meals, many seniors would go hungry, as many of those we serve are low-income, home bound, do not have existing support system, or cannot prepare a meal on their own. Santa Cruz Subaru has made a lasting impact of our seniors and have brought holiday cheer while participating in our Christmas Day meal delivery event. We thank Santa Cruz Subaru and Subaru of America for supporting the nutritional needs of Santa Cruz County seniors In community, Lisa Berkowitz Division Director, Meals on Wheels for Santa Cruz County
